Master Classes:

The Master Classes aim to prepare not only accomplished and skilled musicians but also intelligent and insightful artists. The program offers master class instruction with workshop director Antigoni Goni, and guest artists.
Some editions will foresee chamber group work (NB: refer to the detailed description of the current edition). In this case, students will be asked to participate in chamber music groups coached by the assistants and guest artists and the repertoire for the chamber music groups will be distributed at least one month before the opening date (students are expected to have the piece ready for performance by the beginning of the Volterra Project). |

Music Physiology:
|
The music physiology classes will help the students to become more aware of, and to understand better one of the most important parts of their instrument: their own body and their own mind.
Through a better connection with their body, the use of several technique, gaining insight in stability, mobility, and breathing the musicians can reduce their level of tension during practicing, and stress during performance. As an example among others, the Alexander Technique can help to function better and bring more ease in your playing and practicing. Also some knowledge on the subtle function of the body can really help you to make choices in your practice. Further more it can support you in preventing or recovering from injury and pain. Also, the course will teach the students a few coaching techniques and a number of informal exercises that can be incorporated into daily practice. |

In addition to the above, the Volterra Project will host a day of presentations from several of the most acclaimed Italian Luthiers who will present their instruments, explain the process of guitar building, giving young guitarists an original perspective on their instruments and make them discover the importance of the synergy of luthiers and guitarists in the creation of the instrument.
