Dear all,
It is with great pleasure, joy, and true pride that I invite young guitarists from around the world to this eighteenth edition of the Volterra Project, Summer Guitar Institute: join us for ten days of intense work and creative learning in one of the most enchanting and inspiring settings of the world!

Please, read carefully the following:
Eligibility
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the first day of the workshop to qualify for regular admission.
  • Applicants between 16 and 18 years of age may be accepted under exceptional circumstances
    In such cases, a parent or guardian’s permission is required IN ADDITION to the online application.
    Please DOWNLOAD and sign the permission form, and send us a scanned copy by email.
  • Applicants under the age of 16 cannot be accepted.

Application deadlines
  • NB: do not delay—applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and decisions are issued as they are received.
  • After May 30th, no new applications will be accepted. Only candidates on the reserve list will be considered.
Participation is limited
A total of 12 participants will be admitted.
  • Ten regular students.
  • Two scholarship recipients (one for the Stuart Weber Scholarship and one for the George Karagiozis/Manolis Hadjiemmanouil Scholarship).

Selection Criteria
Acceptance decisions will be based on a thorough review of your application, with special consideration given to:
  • Your biography
  • The repertoire you propose
  • Your motivation letter
You may submit the biography, repertoire, and motivation letter via email to [email protected]. If you choose this option, make sure to note “Sent by email” in the corresponding fields of the application form.

  • Before applying for a scholarship, carefully review the requirements outlined on the dedicated scholarship pages: Stuart Weber scholarship or George Karagiozis/Manolis Hadjiemmanouil scholarship
Release and Waiver agreement
In consideration of being afforded the opportunity to participate in THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT, it is hereby acknowledged:

1. I am solely responsible for the safety of my personal items, instruments, and equipment at all times. THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT, its agents, sponsors, or venues will not be held responsible for missing, broken, stolen, or lost items and equipment;

2. I understand that Antigoni Goni, and THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT reserves the right to refuse admission or dismiss any person whose conduct is deemed by Antigoni Goni to be disorderly or disruptive, or who otherwise fails to act in a professional manner consistent with expectations of Antigoni Goni. If such circumstance should arise where I am dismissed from THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT, I understand that I am not entitled to a refund of any portion of the participation fee;

3. I agree to fully assume all risks and responsibility for all liabilities of any kind including accidents, illness, loss of personal property, and incidental to my participation in THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT. VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT and its agents are not responsible for any damages or claims resulting from participation in THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT or ancillary thereto. As such, I hereby release and agree to indemnify and hold THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT, its agents, and representatives harmless against any and all claims arising directly or indirectly from THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT.

I understand in the event that THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT is delayed, rescheduled, or canceled due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to, adverse weather, acts of war, acts of God, THE VOLTERRA GUITAR PROJECT and its agents, sponsors, and venues will be held harmless.†
Financial information

Media use consent
I hereby grant permission to the Volterra Project for the use of the photograph(s), audio and/or video recordings or any other media images, footage, or other material produced during the workshop in any presentation of any and all kind whatsoever. I understand that I may revoke this authorization at any time by notifying the Volterra Project in writing. The revocation will not affect any actions taken before the receipt of this written notification. Images will be stored in a secure location and only authorized staff will have access to them.

    As shown in your passport/identity card
    Please, include all relevant information (education, teachers, musical activities, level of playing etc.).
    Please write at least 300 words: this is a very important part of the application and may also be used in the context of the business seminars.
    This is the repertoire you will work on during the guitar masterclasses

    The Volterra Project will use the information you provide for the sole purpose of processing and evaluating the application.
    The information you will provide will only be transmitted to the members of the Board. Your information will will never be transferred to third parties with the exception of Italian local authorities for local registration purposes (hotel) as foreseen by Italian law, and will be treated according to the GDPR Regulation.
