Luca Isolani
Italian-born and Brussels-based guitarist, researcher, and pedagogue, Luca Isolani dedicates his focus to exploring the heritage of folk idioms within the classical guitar repertoire. Residing in the capital of Europe, Luca actively engages in various international projects spanning classical, jazz, pop, and folk music, such as Duo Isolani, Del Sablon, Lô Trézou, Tsiribim.
Together with Antigoni Goni and Maarten Vandenbemden, Luca forms the Volterra Project Trio. In 2023 the trio released their debut album, "Medio Siglo" and presented it at the 50° Guitar Foundation of America in New York.
In addition to his musical pursuits, Luca holds the position of assistant professor at the Royal Flemish Conservatory and is concurrently a Ph.D. candidate at the Vrije Universiteit van Brussel. His practice-led research delves into topics related to the interplay between folk and art music in guitar practice.
An alumnus of the Volterra Project 2011 and 2014 editions, Luca has been actively engaged since 2016, contributing as an assistant for chamber music and improvisation courses.
