Gianluca Reggiani, Actor Director Teacher
Gianluca Reggiani graduated from the Theater School in Bologna studying the method of Jacques Lecoq (1985/87). With the diploma of the School of Theater begins the journey in the profession continuing to train and specialize by attending numerous seminars, workshop and courses with international renowned master teacher and artist.

With Lenard Petit (Chekhov Studio - New York) he began his in-depth study of the Michael Chekhov Techinique and he continued with Graham Dixon (Michael Chekhov London) Slava Kokorin (Russia) and with several other teachers of the Michael Chekhov America Association (MICHA) with Joanna Merlin, Ted Pugh, Fern Sloan, David Zinder, John Mc Manus, and also following some teachers of Michael Chekhov Europe (MCE).
Very important for his training was the study of some disciplines like Bio Dance, Thai Chi, Hata Yoga and in particular of Aikido of which he is a black belt. He integrates in its professional work the research and the study of some oriental disciplines and of new technique of integration between body and mind that do not exlude the spirit.

THEATER ACTOR
He worked as an actor with several national level theater companies at the beginning of his career. Particularly important was working for three years with “Remondi e Caporossi – Rem&Cap” participating in the realization of the Trilogy entitled “A Passo d’Uomo” with the shows: “Coro” “Legenda” e “Personaggi” project funded by the italia Ministry of Culture and Entertainment.
He played the role of Prospero in “The Tempest” by W. Shakespeare.
He played the lead role in the show “ ManAlive” based on the G.K. Chesterton novel produced by the “Meeting of Rimini”.
He also made several recitals of poems on authors such as Tonino Guerra, Giovanni Pascoli, Ezra Pound.
Recently, in 2018, he has created a narrative monologue titled “Alone … around the infinity”, on the story of Joshua Slocum teh first man to circumnavigate the Globe in solitary at the end of the 800th century.
He also keeps in his repertoire a a monologue a very special show entitled “The not knowing … almost a satsang” which was taken from a conference of Ekhart Tolle.
THEATER DIRECTOR
At the beginning of the 90s he began to work as director often creating shows in unconventional spaces.

The trilogy the “Roots of the Memory” with the shows:
- “Giovanni Clelia, memoria naufraga” which had the “canal port” as its natural setting;
- “Veglia per la Liberazione” set in a Colony built from Mussolini during the fascist period;
- “Le burle di Giannetto” set up completely trasforming a big Convention Center.
He has created a very special versions of some of the masterpiecies of W.Shakespeare:
- “Midnight summer dream ’” an itinerant version set in Villas with parkland;
- “The Tempest” set on a real beach facing the sea;
For the Repubblic of San Marino he also designed and direct:
- - “La Torre” form “The Seven Seal” by I. Bergman, entirely set in a medieval tower;
- “Dedalo e Icaro, o delle illecite ali” as a stage Olympic swimming pool.
- “The Saint” set in a former mining quarry - Festival Theater of Santarcangelo.
In 2018 he created a touring show inside the Castel Sismondo a Rimini titled “MALATESTA” by Henry de Montherland curating the direction and interpreting the role of protagonist.

He has taken care of the realization of the cultural project “Andem a la vègia” from which were born thre show: “Al Piramidi d’eget” “Gr.A.Tu.Sa. e dialet” “Te vlu fè l’assesour?!” (Three unique act on the destiny of Romagna dialect)

In 2001 he founded the BANYAN Cultural Association of which he is the President an Artistic Director with whoch he realized several shows and many activities of acting training for shools, social centers and also for companies. In 2003 the association opened a fre and self-managed theatrical space in Rimini called “Th Mill Of Hamlet”and Gianluca Reggiani has taken care of the development with the responsability of the artistic direction for 11 years.

Since many years he has led a strong and systematic theatrical propedeutic activity, realizing workshop, courses, lessons in different fields and situation: schools of all levels, companies, cultural centers, social centers and of course School of Theater or Acting. He has also worked with association or cooperatives working on issues related to physical and mental discomfort o disability.
For several years his work as an acting teacher has focused on the practice and development of the Michael Chekhov Technique and to give strenght to this intent he founded in 2015 “Il Mulino di MICHA – The Mill of MICHA” Michael Chekhov Studio Rimini” which is today one of the most qualified and specialized centers in Italy in the teaching of this method.
In recent years the teaching of the training activity for the business world and for managers has grown considerably. For this particular sector he has created some interesting format on “Team Building” on “Conflict resolution” and in particular on “Public speaking” which have been very successful. In this field he also proposes individual and personal “coaching job”, and has salso supervised and direct many events of “Business Theater” during conventions and business meeting.
