Anna Bragina
Anna Bragina was born in St-Petersburg, Russia, in 1977. She started to play guitar with Ludmila Kadnikova when she was nine. In 1990 she participated with success in the competition of young guitar performers. In 1992 she began her studies with Russian Guitarist Evgeny Larionov at the Mussorgsky Music College in Saint-Petersburg and from 1997 continued at the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory. During that time she won several guitar competitions in Russia, she started to play solo concerts in Russia and Germany and started to teach.
In 2003, after graduation with honors from the Saint-Petersburg Conservatory, Anna moved to Germany to continue her studies with German Guitarist Wolfgang Weigel at the High school of Music in Muenster. In 2008 she received her Master’s degree at the Koninklik Conservatorium Brussels (Royal Conservatory of music), where she studied with Antigoni Goni.
Anna was a prize winner and a finalist of Russian and International guitar competitions. She won the Mussorgsky scholarship and the DAAD grant for her studies in Germany. She plays concerts as a soloist, in chamber music ensembles and with orchestras, including the State Symphony Orchestra "Novaya Rossiya". She has played concerts in Russia, Germany, Portugal, Moldavia, Italy. She has performed in large concert halls, such as The Saint Petersburg Academic State Capella, Philharmonic hall in St-Petersburg and Tchaikovsky Concert Hall of the Moscow Philharmonic Society.
