The Volterra Project represents a unique environment for young guitar students to grow as professionals and nurture their souls, preparing themselves for an international career. A well balanced and rounded approach, for the body, mind and soul to teaching guitar by the pioneering guitar artist Antigoni Goni offers participants the experience of a life time that can change them forever.
The George Karagiozis/Manolis Hadjiemmanouil scholarship is established in memory of my two grand fathers, both being visionaries and pioneers in the political life of Greece as well as admirers and strong supporters of the music and the arts. Both of them fought against injustice and marginalization of the poor and the vulnerable. Decades after I found myself serving similar causes defending the rights of the poor and the vulnerable through my work with the International Organization for Migration (IOM)/The UN Migration Agency, in various parts of the world. The aim of this scholarship is to give the opportunity to young talents to caliber themselves against the odds that we face as humanity, through a multidisciplinary approach in developing themselves as musicians/guitarists but as well as persons, using the art of guitar music in bringing people closer through music and unite them in creating a better world.
